PLEASE NOTE: Orient is based in Wellington, New Zealand


Processing, dispatch & delivery

All orders are processed within 2 business days and dispatched within 1 additional business day. Orders placed on Public Holidays will be processed the next business day.

Expected delivery is 1 business day for the North Island and 2 business days for the South Island. Please allow an additional 1-2 business days for rural deliveries. 

For purchases including food products, delivery times may vary as these are made to order. The expected delivery time will be notified via email when the order is processed.

All deliveries are tracked with 'signature required'. If you have special delivery instructions, please let us know in the customer notes at time of checkout. When your order has been collected by the courier you should receive an email with tracking details.


Please note that we do not offer international shipping and are unable to deliver to PO boxes. 


Shipping costs

Shipping is charged on an order weight/volumetric basis. Even though a product may weigh very little, its volumetric weight will cost more than its real weight to send. After checkout, you will receive a confirmation email with total costs and delivery time frame. We will also notify you at time of order dispatch. Please note that rural areas will incur an additional shipping fee.


Since our shipping costs are variable, should there be any incorrect or additional charges we will contact you by email to arrange payment of the difference. If you have any questions or queries with regards to our shipping rates, feel free to email us at store@orient-nz.com


Click and collect (Wellington only)

You are welcome to pick up your order from our Wellington store free of charge if preferred. In this case, select the 'customer pick up, no delivery' option at checkout. You will be notified via email once your order is ready to be picked up (usually within 1 business day); orders can be collected daily between 10am and 3pm. 


Damaged goods

If your parcel arrives damaged, it is important you sign DAMAGED with the courier, take photos before opening and inspect the contents. Please contact us with all the information within 5 days of receiving your order. If this process is followed we are able to credit you the full amount and follow up with the freight company. If this process is not followed then getting reimbursed is at the discretion of the freight company.
